Thermal exploitation of fossil fuels contributes to the global pollution. Development of technology for exploitation of renewable non-fossil fuels, as wood charcoal and sawdust, is necessary to replace fossil fuels. Biomass is the largest contributor to the renewable energy consumption of EU [1]. Wood charcoal is an environmental friendly biomass fuel with a high carbon content produced by slow pyrolysis of wood and vegetable wastes, with a calorific value higher than that of wood and than that of sawdust, used as a combustion fuel.
