Agri Tech Capacity Enhancement 135 (PACE 135) (PPT)

Agri Tech Ltd (formerly Pak-America) operates a conventional KBR synthesis technology plant with an original design capacity of 600 MTPD ammonia which started up in 1998. Agri Tech decided to push the design capacity of the plant for which Johnson Matthey Catalysts carried out detailed study this included a complex review of the syngas generation section including reforming to get an ultimate 135% plant rate increase and with the strategy of providing a cost effective project for Agri Tech. The first phase of project was implemented in 2010 and the plant started up in February 2011. This paper explains the experiences obtained during this valuable period including details of front end reforming operation and incident recovery.
