This paper presents an analysis of the preciseness and safety of different surveying methods when researching the vertical displacements of objects in a space. We chose both geodetic and non-geodetic methods from among all the methods. There are numerous methods for researching displacements, so we limited ourselves to those instruments available to us. We used the level, total station, inductive transducer and laser level. This presented research includes vertical displacement analyses and measurements made on prestressed concrete plates. We calculated the foreseen displacements using analytical as well as numerical methods based on Eurocode2. We calculated standard deviation and optimal accuracy for each method, and by using Baarda's data snooping method we also checked for the presence of rough errors which can occur in measured results.
