摘要

A study on compact l×3beam splitter based on multimode interference effect in Photonic crystal waveguides formed by holographic lithography was presented. The 1×3 beam splitter was designed and characterized using PWE calculation and FDTD simulations. Simulation results show that this kind of beam splitters can be compact and easily fabricated. For TE mode, the input field can be divided into three parts equally and obtain a high total transmission simultaneously by modulation of the effective index of coupling PhC rows, while with a fixed length of MMI region.
