The study aimed to explore whether using multimedia e-books with PBL (Problem-Based Learning) teaching approach had impact on junior high school students' personal epistemo-logical beliefs and English academic achievement. In the study, the participants were two classes of 2nd graders of a junior high school in the central Taiwan. One class was the experimental group with 32 students, and the other was the control group with 32 students as well. The two classes were taught by the same teacher with 12 classes. The study adapted English multimedia e-book, English learning achievement tests, and a questionnaire on individual English epistemological beliefs as tools, which was examined by experts to ensure reliability and validity, as the study tool. The study indicated that applying multi-media e-books with PBL teaching approach promoted students English academic achievement. Moreover, it had positive effect on students' tense analysis ability and reading when learning English.
