The failure of a turbomachine blade could result in the catastrophic failure of the entire machine. Blade condition during operation is therefore of interest to monitor and various blade vibration measurement techniques have been developed for this purpose. Due to the cost, complexity and lack of robustness of intrusive approaches, current emphasis is on the development of non-intrusive techniques. This paper presents a two part forced response model based upon the combination of a blade frequency response function and a Gaussian forcing function, which relies on the measurement of casing pressure. The method is demonstrated on a laboratory test rig.
