Determining optimal dilation factor of non-dyadic wavelet transform

Wavelet analysis is widely and effectively used in data processing and analysis. Due to fast and simple algorithm dyadic wavelet transforms are mostly used. However non-dyadic wavelet transforms can provide more precise detection of singularities. In this paper we present a method for determining an optimal value of dilation factor for non-dyadic transforms. Also we provide two examples in order to illustrate proposed approach.
