Matching pursuit is a method of seismic signal sparse decomposition, which has a higher precision. However, the conventional matching pursuit is calculated according to a single channel, so the lateral continuity of seismic profile is poor. In order to improve this algorithm, we exploit the matching pursuit based on dipole decomposition. The application indicates that compared with the traditional matching pursuit using the above method not only can enhance the seismic structure but also can significantly improve the lateral continuity of seismic profiles.
