In order to raise the utilization rate of the optical fiber preform, reduce the diameter change period duration of the bare fiber and promote the efficiency of the production line, one kind of pulverizer and automatic recovery system of bare fiber used in the optical fiber drawing line was introduced in this paper. Crushing model of bare fiber was established, the crushing principle of bare fiber was studied, and one kind of meshing gear structure which was driven by motor was designed to crush the bare fiber. In order to achieve a high level of intelligence, one kind of intelligent recovery system was designed, which can gather the crushed bare fiber produced by several production lines to one container intelligently. The experiment shows that after using the system, the utilization rate of the optical fiber preform can be increased by about 0.07%, and the fiber diameter change period duration can be reduced by about40%.
