In this paper, we describe a new design of Ultra-High-Fiber-Count (UHFC) and High-Density (HD) optical fiber cable with pliable 12-fiber or 8-fiber ribbons which consist of fiber separate parts and non-separate parts coming in turns in a longitudinal and transverse direction. The pliable ribbons enable high fiber density within limited duct space and mass fusion splice. The developed cables has non-preferential bend axis which allows for easy installation in space-constrained areas. We combined Pliable Ribbon technology with cable design, which realized dramatically higher fiber density than conventional underground cables. It retains good characteristics of conventional slotted core cables such as cable handling, good identification, and mass fusion splice.
