This project illustrates the application of conditional simulation to calculate the uncertainty associated with the thickness of bauxite ore. The Bauxite Deposit of Rondon do Para currently undergoing a feasibility study, is a lateritic type and occurs in terranes of higher altitude and long lateral extensions called plateaus. This study used thickness data from 1005 drillholes with different grid spacing. Results were analyzed using probability maps for different confidence intervals. Incorporation of this information to the model proves very useful to support of resource classification. The calculated uncertainty helps understand the thickness variability and supports subsequent studies of economic evaluation and risk analysis.
