Simple 1D grid-refinement for the FDTD method based on coordinate transformation

This article discusses a simple Yee-grid connection, where grid interval is discontinuously changed with the ratio of n: 1. To reduce unphysical wave reflection due to the grid connection, the grid points are located following the coordinate transformation around the connection. A small shift of primal grid effectively reduces the unphysical wave reflection.
