EXTRACTING DRIVING FEATURES OF AGED DRIVERS WITH COGNITION IMPAIRMENT FROM DRIVING SIMULATOR TEST

Countries all over the world already face an ageing society, the number of the aged drivers with cognitive impairment is increasing, too. To improve safety for these aged drivers with cognitive impairment, it seems important to find out what is their driving features and consider the countermeasures. We analyzed the driving performance of aged drivers with a driving simulator test (DS test) to compare the driving performance between those with cognitive impairment and those unimpaired. Through the analyzing of the test results, we extracted three parameters from the DS test which were possible to screen cognitively impaired aged drivers on the basis of driving performance.
