The paper presents some studies of fixation devices for intertrochanteric fractures. The 3D bone model was obtained by digitizing an anatomical model of a femur. All the corrections needed were done in ProEngineer (ProE). The devices studied are: the fixed plate, the sliding screw-plate device, the intramedullary hip nail and Ender wires, designed in ProE. The final models were analyzed in Ansys. The stress and strain state is revealed; Also, some interesting aspects of the bone's fragment contact region are presesnted.
