Gas Conditioning refers to the steps taken to prepare gas for direct use, transportation, sales or further processing. Gas usually refers to natural gas, which is produced from "gas" reservoirs and also often co-produced with crude oil or condensate; gas is separated from the produced fluids, which can be a range of hydrocarbons and brine, from which it is separated. Gas also typically contains water vapor that comes from the reservoir and remains after separation; in fact, the gas is saturated with water vapor at the temperature and pressure of the wellhead conditions. Water vapor can also be introduced from other conditioning process steps such as aqueous amine sweetening. Dealing with this water vapor in natural gas is the topic of the 2016 Fundamentals Session - Glycol Dehydration.
