摘要

Wheel rim grade is one of the most important grades in automotive industry. In addition to recent trends of higher strength for car body weight reduction, the surface quality requirement has also become very stringent. Practically, the wheel manufacturers are looking for surface quality similar to automotive panel and became unforgiving on surface defects. Owing to inherent chemistry, these grades generally show peritectic behaviour during solidification and are prone to surface defects.
