Integration of ADS-B unit with Emergency Prevention and Handling System (EPHS) developed in EGALITE project

The paper presents results of research on integration of ADS-B extended squitter messages data into the Emergency Prevention and Handling System - EPHS. The system gathers crucial data about accidents delivered by mobile client-type applications installed on smartphones. Information about localization of onground rescue vehicles - medical emergency units, fire fighter trucks etc. is presented to the personnel of the rescue center. The aim of current research was to incorporate into EPHS the information about localizations of rescue aircrafts, including medical helicopters. All contemporary aircrafts are equipped with ADS-B transponders which broadcast constantly information about their ID, call sign, position, velocity, heading, vertical speed etc. Such messages are received by the ground station, processed in presented system and sent to the EPHS server. For the purpose of the system only rescue aircrafts registered in the database are presented to the operator.
