This paper presents the results of a study investigating the corrosion resistance of Mg4AlZn magnesium alloy aircraft brackets produced by new forging methods with a three-slide forging press. The forgings produced by the above processes were subjected to corrosion testing in a 5% NaCl solution for 170 hours at 35°C. Following the corrosion tests, the surface of the forgings was subjected to stereoscopic examination to preliminarily identify corrosion type. In addition, the forgings underwent microstructural examination. The experimental results demonstrate that local pitting corrosion is dominant. The mass decrease in the test samples varies and depends on the employed forging method.
