Within the concept of sustainable development, a concrete project has been carried out in an electronic engineer school. A small scale genuine materials and realistic house (1/20 scale), surroundings and powering electronic systems has been designed [1]. This present paper focuses on thermal aspects and insulation problems like in a real house. Thermal losses of the small scale house are located, quantified by comparative tests between different kind of windows and insulators, with temperature sensors and infrared thermal imaging. As these experiments are positive, we will transfer this 1/20 model kit for pedagogical purpose and practical lessons in first year study as well as demonstrator for sustainable exhibition.
