Broadband imaging is now becoming popular both for improved; geological interpretation and providing a robust starting point for seismic inversion. The compensation of ghost effects from free-surface interactions is one of the main challenges in the production of such images. Here we present a method for ghost compensation which is embedded in beam migration. It exploits the fact that beam migration is carried out in the slant-stack domain. Numerical examples demonstrate the mechanics of the method and real data examples show structural enhancement arising from the ghost compensation.
