In tomography, the information of interest for the physician is inferred from measurements performed around the body of the patient [1]. This information may be a distribution of attenuating medium (CT), a distribution of radioactivity (PET and SPECT) or even its temporal evolution (dynamic SPECT). In any case, it is represented by a function of 2 or 3 spatial variables and possibly one time variable. This function is constrained by the aforementioned measurements, which constitute the experimental information. More precisely, the information of interest is altered by the experimental device in a way that can be described as (1) the action of an operator (e.g. pure Radon transform or its version that includes camera blurring, etc.); (2) the sampling of the resulting function; (3) the corruption of these samples by experimental noise.
