COMPARISON ON THE APPLICATIONS OF OLD (1':1MILE) SCALE TOPOGRAPHIC MAPS AND NEW SCALE (1:50,000) UTM MAPS IN MYANMAR

摘要

UTM maps (1:50,000 scale) were produced in late 90s and early 2000s. The products were widely used by various sectors especially in Government services. But still old maps (1":1 Mile scale) produced in 1940～90 were still heavily used in many sectors including natural resources exploration, extraction, managing and land administration. This paper addresses the transition process in the application of use of the maps in two types.
