摘要

With the rapid development of urbanization and industrialization, water pollution is more and more serious in many cites of China. Remote sensing technology can provide an effective way to monitor water environment quality. But the research on water quality model, especially at inland areas, still needs to do further work before being applied. The major problems of the quantitative remote sensing on water quality at inland areas are discussed in this paper. In order to solve these problems, we had studied out the key techniques and built a remote sensing water quality model to retrieve the major water quality components including carbon oxide demand (COD), chlorophyll, and turbidity in Guangdong province of China. The results were validated with synchro-ground-measurement, and could well illustrate the water quality of rivers, lakes, and reservoirs. The large and medium-sized pollution sources and their sphere of influence were reflected clearly, which had high practical value. An operational system had been established based on these techniques, and good social benefits had been achieved.
