The Terminal Patient: Death and Client—Care for All

摘要

The two most important visits to a veterinarian a client makes with a companion animal are the first one and the last one. We care for families including their companion animals and the response of our clients when death is imminent or occurs should interest us and we need to be able to provide the counselling and support that is part of "the art of practice." To do so effectively we must face and work through our own feelings, issues, and agendas that relate to loss. Strategies need to be developedto help clients at a time of loss. We need to facilitate decisions and provide support.
