The report focuses on issue of providing the stability of embankments, constructed in areas where permafrost. It is known that the construction of complex engineering and permafrost conditions require special measures to ensure the strength and stability of subgrade. The aim of the work was to evaluate the stability of embankments of different designs on subsiding during thawing basis, with much attention paid to the simultaneous study and account for the influence of thermal processes that alter the initial temperature field is established at dumping mounds, and the process of consolidating soil foundation. The calculations suggested the optimal time of consolidation of soils at different stages of construction to dissipate excess pore pressure and provide the necessary stability of the roadbed. The strength of geosynthetic material is determined by the possibility of long-term reinforcement element. Calculations of elastic-plastic solution overestimated the strength of demand. The calculations taking into account the consolidation of the show that the coefficients which take into account the creep may be smaller, respectively, the strength of geosynthetic material may be lower as well.
