Shallow geothermal energy is a green and environmentally friendly new energy resource, and has great potential of exploitation. However, the development of shallow geothermal energy may have a negative impact on geological environment and ecological environment such as: pollution of groundwater, groundwater lowering, even land subsidence. If strictly technical measures are taken, and technical standards and specifications are strictly implemented, these negative consequences can be avoided even completely eliminated. From a macroscopic perspective, the shallow geothermal energy is widely distributed, easy to exploit, mature in technology of exploitation, it can be exploited in a large scale, and became a highly promising renewable energy and clean energy, reducing depletion for natural resources and environment resources. A number of policy suggestions have been put forward.
