Laser Headlamps.Key Factors and Improvement

In 2014 the laser headlamp was introduced in combination with LEDs into the market worldwide.Right from the start of the laser headlamp development, high luminance and visibility range was our main focus.During the project, the safety concept at multiple levels and lifetime issues became very important.This paper explains the investigation and experience over 3 laser projects. it also covers the next technical challenges in laser headlamps:-Increasing luminance compared to LED, Xenon and Halogen -Optimizing of phosphorus conversion effectiveness -Lifetime and robustness issues specific to laser headlamps -Creation of new dynamic light functions which use laser specific light properties
