ECO-FRIENDLY-ENERGY EFFICIENT AIR CONDITIONING AND OTHER ENERGY CONSERVATION PRACTICES IN SUGAR INDUSTRY

Nava Bharat Ventures Ltd. Sugar Division (NBV -SD) is converted in to 100% electrified plant with marginal increase in electrical consumption. During this process, requirement of air conditioning increased for various equipments like AC VFDS, DC drives and control rooms also became very critical. Hence the introduction of Vapour Absorption Heat Pump (VAHP) in sugar industry has been studied which is eco-friendly, low maintenance and energy efficient. To meet the total plant air conditioning needs, 77 TR VAHP has been installed. This paper also briefs about other energy efficient practices implemented.
