摘要

The Sugar factory is located in drought prone area where required amount of fresh water is not available throughout the crushing season. In the sugar factory fresh water is required for machinery cooling, cleaning and attached distillery unit. Sugarcane water balance shows that the water content of sugarcane itself is more than sufficient for sugar manufacturing processing. Surplus water from sugarcane is available for use as fresh water. Efforts were made to use excess condensate to reduce fresh water requirement and thereby minimisation of wastewater and achieve zero water requirements. This is achieved by implementation of water conservation programme.
