The method demonstrations of integrated pest management (IPM), package of practices, late spring planting and ratoon management in sugarcane were undertaken at farmers field of different sugar mill zones of western Uttar Pradesh during the spring season of years 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11. The prominent released sugarcane varieties namely Co.S. 8436, Co.S. 88230, Co.Se. 98231, Co.Se. 03234 (Early maturing) and CoS. 767, Co.S. 96275, Co.S. 97264, Co.S. 98259 and U.P. 0097 (Mid. late maturing) were planted in different demonstration plots. A side plot was left for conventional method application by sugarcane growers and yield of both plots were recorded accordingly. The observations revealed that sugarcane yield increased by 10.91, 11.32, 13.64 and 20.79 per cent through IPM, package of practices, late spring planting and ratoon management technologies, respectively, with overall increased yield potential up to 14.16% as compared to the conventional method adopted by the farmers. It is inferred that ratoon management technology remained the best as compared to other technologies for highest sugarcane yield potential.
