China's steel output has been ranked No.1 in the world for the last twenty years. And great achievements have been made in technological process optimization, energy conservation and emission reduction, equipment upsizing and automation, and the production of high quality steel. Hot metal pre-desulphurization is the basis of high quality steel production. Magnesium-based hot metal pre-desulphurization has been the mainstream in China. The application of magnesium is the major impetus to promote the development of pre desulfurization of hot metal not only now, but also and will be in the following 10-15 years.
