Thin Layers

The incremental deposition techniques that are becoming more common make the reliable production of thin layers less of a problem than used to be the case. Although frequently thin layers are an unwanted residue of an automatic design procedure, which are then eliminated before the design is finalized, there are many instances where thin layers contribute positively to performance and are therefore to be encouraged.
