Solar thermal power plants are increasingly becoming a way to substitute fossil fuel. High efficiencies in the solar heat harvest are achieved by air as the medium as well as using porous ceramic materials as solar receiver of the concentrated solar sunlight. Such efficient technology are being adopted for direct application of solar heated gas or fluids and is attracting attentions for their direct substitutions into various processes. A solar based heat treatment system is designed, adapted and evaluated as per ISPM 15(lntemational standard for Phytosanitary Measurement) using forced hot air treatment procedure - NSPM 9 (National Standard for Phytosanitary Measures) for Plant Quarantine Organization India.
