Acid catalysts are used in a variety of hydrocarbon conversion processes, and come in many forms, e.g. supported metal catalysts, zeolites and other framework materials. In all of these reactions, the activity, stability and selectivity of the catalysts are determined largely by their acidity [1]. However, such reactions are usually associated with the deposition of coke that may lead to catalyst deactivation.
