This study investigates the properties of a matt finishing paint formulated using Vinyl acetate (VAc) - Butyl acrylate (BuA) copolymer latex (water based resin system) and activated rubber crumb (matting agent). Vinyl acetate - Butyl acrylate copolymer prepared by semicontinuous emulsion polymerization. The copolymer emulsion mixed with dispersion of rubber crumb to make the surface coating. Presence of rubber crumb may actively resist the attack of chemicals and climate conditions.
