This study is an attempt to add new facts and conclusions to draw from them to an old topic - semantics of evaluative adjectives (Bierwisch 1989). The evidence we will be using is based on a corpus study. The more general goal of this paper is to develop and describe a pipeline that would help solve quantitative semantic tasks in an easier and more systematic way, this particular study being an example. The topic we investigate here is the semantics of evaluative adjectives (EAs) - both positive (charming, industrious etc.) and negative (lazy, ugly etc.). (Bierwisch 1989) describes EAs as a subclass of gradable adjectives along with 'dimensional adjectives' (DAs) like tall, short, big, small etc.
