AgNO_3 doped bismuth silicate glasses were prepared by traditional melt quenching techniques. UV-Vis absorption spectra used to study the optical properties of prepared samples. Absorption spectrum shows 479nm peak due to lower valance of bismuth ion that is Bi~(2+) or Bi~0 Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR). Optical band gap from Tauc plot gives the idea about localized states formation near to valance band and conduction band by the addition of AgNO_3. The 570nm absorption peak in 5LBSAg0.5 is due to silver nano particle. Most of the silver formed as silver oxide that can be seen in Raman spectra. The Bi_2O_3 can exist both BiO_3 and BiO_6 unit. The photoluminescence spectra give two main peaks at 435nm and 630nm due to Bi~(3+) and Bi~(2+) respectively. The CIE color coordinates (x, y), color purity (CP) and correlated color temperature (CCT) are calculated for all the samples.
