In order to fulfill the unquenchable demand of this expanded human society, a large number of industries have grown up resulting in a severe pollution in air, soil and water as well. Industrial dye is one of the most abundant contaminant in fresh water. Here we have prepared reduced graphene oxide/nickel hydroxide nanocomposite (rGo/Ni(OH)_2) by a facile hydrothermal method, aiming for the treatment of water disposed by the textile industries. The characteristic properties of the prepared sample was observed by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The effect of rGo/Ni(OH)_2 on the adsorption of Rhodamine B (Rh-B) in aqueous solution was investigated, mainly focusing on the removal time. It was found that, at 45 min, the composite shows a complete disappearance of the initial concentration of Rhodamine B (RhB).
