We explore quantum transport phenomena in a two-terminal helical ring with long-range hopping in presence of Aharonov-Bohm flux and Rashba spin orbit interaction. We find zero energy crossings in the spectra of the ring in absence as well as presence of magnetic flux leading to a possibility of behaving like topological insulator edge states. However, incorporation of Rashba spin-orbit interaction destroys/hinders such possibility.
