With the increase in bacterial resistance to antibacterial therapies, there is a need for the development of new, more effective ways to fight against bacteria. This increase in resistance is a problem in many fields such as the food packaging, water treatment and pharmaceutical industries. Pathogens stick to solid surfaces and this can lead to spoilage of products, chronic infections and the formation of antibiotic resistant biofilms.
