摘要

The steroid hormones 17β-estradiol (E2) and progesterone play important roles in the reproductive systems of both males and females. Since fibrin network formation is dependent on plasma composition, hormonal fluctuations are able to change the fibrin network when coagulation occurs. The specific concentrations that bring about changes to the fibrin network ultrastructure have not been determined nor the possible role that gender may play in these alterations.
