Coal is a competitive fossil fuel that is of vital importance in producing electricity for modern human life. It is a well known fact that efficient use of coal as a major energy source plays a more effective role in creating employment opportunities and contributing to the national economy than other energy raw materials. Longwall coal mining is one of the widely used underground mining methods both in the world and in our country. Thanks to the recent developments in technology and the subsequent transition to mechanized systems in underground mining, there has been a considerable increase in the exploitation efficiency especially in longwall systems. Exploitation efficiency is one of the most significant factors affecting the industrial economy; hence, it is an important subject which needs to be observed carefully. Machinery and equipment which are determined during the project stage and selected depending on panel and face length are of great importance for mining operations in terms of their influence on the continuity and efficiency of exploitation. Face advance rate related to the selected shearer-loaders' excavation rate and performance, positioning of transportation and support units in the face and etc. are among the standing factors that affect the efficiency of exploitation activities. In this study, the mining machinery and equipment, the exploitation method and parameters affecting the exploitation efficiency of C-03 panel are investigated on Qayirhan Park Termic Inc.
