High temperature (HT) PEM fuel cells are more attractive due to its advantages over LTPEM in terms CO tolerances, high operating temperature band width which ultimately opens the doors for replacement of Platinum catalysts. Considering the aforementioned facts, HTPEM fuel cells are becoming near commercially viable alternate source for various applications. The technical challenging issues in high temperature PEM fuel cell stacks are materials durability, fast start-up, reactants preheating. In this work, a novel integrated system is developed to handle the issues of start of HTPEM fuel cell stack and reactants preheating. The results obtained for a given stack are compared with presence and absence of integrated reactants preheating system.
