INFLUENCES OF SANITARY LANDFILL ON GROUNDWATER UNDER THE COMPLEX HYDROGEOLOGICAL CONDITIONS

In the paper hydrogeological conditions of the aquifer systems underlying complex sanitary landfill in NE Slovenia - Puconci are described based on the past hydrogeological investigations as well as on the results based on the qualitative and quantitative groundwater monitoring. At present landfill covers area of 5.64 ha and total mass of waste was until the end of 2011 approximately 480,000 t. The landfill body consist of the older landfill body positioned directly on the bottom of the abandoned clay pit and of the newer dump fields that were constructed during the course of last ten years. The latter had been constructed according to the standards valid at the time of design and construction.
