There are anumber of different factors which affect CH4 oxidation capacity of the landfill's cover soils. Meteorological condition is one of the most influencing factors affecting Methane (CH4) emissions and oxidation rate inside the landfill's soil cover. This factor directly affects the temperature and moisture content of the soil which are influencing the rate of CH, oxidation. The main aim of the present study was to evaluate CH4 emissions from a municipal solid waste landfill in Adelaide, South Australia using flux chamber technique and to compare the field data with CALMIM prediction modeled results.
