The Great East Japan Earthquake and the following accident of nuclear power plant produced a huge amount of debris including radioactive. A large part of the debris was incinerated to reduce its volume, and a large amount of incineration residue with radioactive was generated. Ministry of the Environment of Japan categorized the method of landfilling the radioactive included debris and incineration residue according to the concentration of radioactive in them. The waste containing low radioactive waste (less than 8,000 Bq/kg) could be landfilled as the same manner as no radioactive bottom ash although no water contact was recommended. To proceed with the landfill of such bottom ash, it is necessary to establish risk communication with stakeholders. However, the knowledge of the behavior of radioactive in bottom ash was much little. The purpose of this study was to clarify the effect of temperature, pH, and potassium concentration on adsorption of cesium on bottom ash.
