ON-SITE SIMPLE LEACHATE TREATMENT IN LANDFILL BY STIRRING DEVICE ECO-FAN USING NATURAL ENERGY

In the developing countries, with economic growth and rapid urbanization solid waste management (SWM) has been pointed out as a social problem. However, they have a shortage of finances, skill, engineers and materials for SWM in these countries. We have been proposing the "Semi-aerobic Landfill Type (Fukuoka Method)", which is easy to operate and maintain, and costs little to construct, as one of the support technology for improvement of Landfill. Some countries such as Malaysia, China and Samoa applied it. For further improvement, the low cost and simple leachate treatment systems such as leachate recirculation, oxidation ditch and adsorption/filtration by using local material were adopted in these "Semi-aerobic Landfill Type" of landfills. We designed the aeration and stirring devices by using a potential energy and wind power for most landfills without electricity.
