Paper presents the experience collected during the start-up of the last landfill leachate treatment plant built by VWS Italia in a landfill placed north of Lyon (France). The plant is composed of a raw leachate pre-treatment section followed by a double pass reverse osmosis unit that acts as pre-concentration step before two vacuum evaporation units placed in series. Permeate produced by reverse osmosis unit is passed through a post-treatment section before discharge and concentrate produced by last evaporation unit is send to disposal.
