Because of low investment and exploitation costs, the interest in plants using in landfill leachate disposal is increasing. Especially, the decrease of leachate volume by plants evapotranspiration is important. The decreasing of leachate volume in soil-plant system ensues due to evaporation supported by plants transpiration. There are few gaps in this technology. One of them is lack of the sufficient procedure of plant species and leachate dose selection. The solution may be using the phytotoxicological tests. The main problem, is to choose the parameter which would indicate the response plants on toxic compound contained in landfill leachate. Additional, important aspect may be possibility of using of the same parameter as in toxicological test in technical scale soil-plant system with plants, for determining the conditions of plants. Usually, the stem and root elongation is used in such tests. These parameters are easy to observe in the laboratory, but difficult in the technical scale. Another way is to measure some morphological parameters of leafs, such length, width, area, weight. The main problem may be good accuracy of measurements. The another leaf parameter may be the fractal dimension of leafs. This parameter is easy to measure, and it determine the relation between all morphological parameters. Authors put the hypothesis that increasing concentration of landfill leachate in supplied water may negative influence on plants, and the emanation of it would be changes in fractal dimension of leafs.
