摘要

Landfill monitoring requires continuous control of solid phase and leachate quality. A preferred method to explore the structure of the subsurface of an area, e.g. a landfill, is drilling of wells. Chemical and mineralogical investigations of borehole samples yield detailed information on the vertical profile. But it is not always possible to extrapolate the obtained data from a one-dimensional section to a three-dimensional-system. This extrapolation to a spatial distribution of various parameters has to be considered with care.
